There are currently no known or documented conservation efforts or threats regarding B. leachi.

Impacts

B. leachi has been regarded as a bio-fouling organism because it able to attach and grow quickly on man-made structures (Brunetti et al., 1980, NIMPIS, 2012c). B. leachi has been found to foul aquaculture cages, the hull of boats and coastal infrastructure, such as moorings and pontoons (Brunetti et al., 1980, NIMPIS, 2012c).
